Metabo's Newest Heavy Duty Angle Grinder Offers Advanced Protection Features to Extend Tool Life

WEST CHESTER, Pa. January 2009 - Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, now offers the WE14-150 Quick 6" compact angle grinder that incorporates several advanced motor protection features, including current interruption protection, thermal overload protection, electronic speed stabilization and an electronic soft start, to significantly extend tool life.

With a long lasting 12.2 A motor, the most powerful available in the new Metabo small angle grinder line, the new WE14-150 Quick is ideal for heavy duty cutting and grinding applications in the metal working and mechanical maintenance industries. Metabo's unique Cool Flow technology, an improved and sonically balanced fan coupled with better venting and more efficient internal ducting, has resulted in a 15% increase in air flow over the motor, contributing to its long life.

The Quick tool-less wheel change system saves time when replacing wheels, making the operator more efficient. The Metabo Vibratech (MVT) side handle reduces vibration up to 60% for exceptionally increased user comfort over long work periods, and reduces the risk of white finger syndrome. Dual grip zones and a 'racket' grip design ensure secure operation at all times.

Additional features include a spindle lock, a tool free locking wheel guard with 7 positions and the Metabo "S-Automatic" safety slip clutch to help protect the operator from kickback by absorbing the torque created should the wheel bind or snag.

The WE14-150 Quick weighs just 6.3 lb and has one of the most effective dust protection systems on the market. The system includes an encapsulated on/off switch, double-lipped labyrinth sealed bearings, Metabo's unique dust-deflecting winding protection grid and epoxy coated field coil windings.

The grinder offers 1,400 watts of power, 31 inch-lbs of torque and a no-load speed of 9,000 rpm. It comes standard with a wheel guard, inner flange, outer 'Quick' flange nut and a flange kit for mounting both type 1 and type 27 wheels.
