A construction jobsite scene of the Kemper County Mississippi Power Plant

On the bottom level there is a laydown area for gang (tool) boxes and material. The right of the image shows several levels of temporary scaffolding.

The Kemper project is an integrated gasification combined cycle plant. It is the first US. power plant to use total carbon capture technology. Integrated-gasification is a process that turns coal into gas. The 5.8 billion investment requires about 106 cubic yards of concrete, about 38,000 tons of structural steel, about 720,000 linear feet of above-ground piping. Supporting facilities include 6 miles of transmission lines, 62 miles of CO2 pipeline, 6 miles of natural gas pipiline and a 500 million gallon reservoir.
